Andre Agassi is a professional tennis player. He turned professional in 1986. He then won his first top-level singles title in 1987 at Itaparica. He ended his first professional year ranked number twenty- five.

As a young, up-coming player Agassi embraced a rebel image. He grew his hair to rocket length, sported an earring, and wore colorful shirts to his tournaments. Andre Agassi was born on April 29, 1970, in Los Vegas, Nevada. He was born into a family of two older siblings. Later on when Andre was only five years old, he began practicing with professionals such as, Jimmy Connors and Roscoe Tanner. He later was married to actress, Broke Shields. Later on in their marriage, they divorced. Andre later remarried the retired tennis star, Steffi Graf. They had a son, Jaden and a daughter, Jaz Elle. They lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, and paid 23 million dollars for a six bedroom, eight bathroom house. While growing into middle adulthood, Andre donated over 108,200 dollars to different Democratic candidates. Agassi utilized a baseline style of play, but like every other players, he tried to make contact with the ball inside the baseline. He was the best service returner that ever played tennis. He was also the best ball striker in the history of tennis. He was also known for his ability to hit sharply angled winners from the baseline. Agassi was not only famous for tennis, but also for getting into a batting cage and hitting 90 mph fast balls with a bat while charging the machine. In 1998, he became more focused on his physical conditioning and on tour he became one of the fittest players. One of Agassi's strategies was to wear down his opponents. After using this strategy on some of his opponents, he soon became known as "The Punisher." Agassi retired September 3, 2006, after loosing in the third round of the U.S. open. Andre ended his career with a singles record of 870-274 and 60 titles and a doubles record of 40-42, and one title.

Andre Agassi was born on April 29, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the fourth child out of four children. Andre loved the sport tennis and was a very average player; he started to play with pros and got much better, but he didn’t win very many matches, yet still loved tennis. Andre married and divorced Brooke Shields. Then he met and married the famous women’s tennis player Steffi Graf. Graf had retired when they where married so she could take care of their son.

When he was just thirteen his father saw that he loved tennis, so his father took him to the Nick Bollettierri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He got much better and made it to both French and US Opens and made it to the semifinals and hit the one million dollar mark that day. He hired a new coach in the middle of his of his training and made it to the 1994 Olympics and won a gold medal with his new coach Brad Gilbert. He is famous because on the day that he won a gold medal in the Olympics he went from numbers 41-25 because of the fame he got when he went to the Olympics and both of the opens.

He had many wins like the 1992 Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and three Grand Slams. Then he came into the 2000’s and was in the top 10. He also ranked number three in the United States in 1988. He had a powerful backhand, a two handed swing, and a powerful ground strokes.

Though he had a weird attitude and a wacky hairdo he still has made a mark in tennis history.
