Cal Ripken, Jr. was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, in August 24 of 1960. He was raised in Aberdeen, Maryland. As a teenager, he went to Aberdeen High School. He is a nineteen time MLB All Star. He is considered one of the best shortstops ever to play baseball.
Cal Ripken Jr. also beat Lou Gehrig's long standing record, in 1995. At 6’4” he pioneered the way for the taller and larger short stops. In baseball he is known as the “Iron Man”. He played 2,632 straight games spanning it into 16 seasons. Cal was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility which was on January 9, 2007. He now lives with his wife, the former, Kelly Geer. He has a son, Ryan, and daughter, Rachel.
