Daniel Boone is a famous frontiersman for many reasons. He met George Washington after a horrible battle we lost. He also witnessed the death of General Edward Braddock. But he is most famous for rescuing his daughter after she was captured by the Shawnee and the Cherokee Indians, but he was captured in the process (but he later escaped.)Boone was born in Devonshire, England, but soon moved to William Penn’s Quaker Haven (Pennsylvania). His parents were Squire and Sarah Boone. Daniel Boone’s childhood must have been crowded. He was born sixth out of eleven kids. He would gather food for his family on lengthy hunting trips as a kid! Daniel Boone married Rebecca Bryan on August 14, 1756. He died on September 26, 1820 at age 85.
Daniel Boone had some very interesting things about his life that some people don’t know about. Like he used to trap, hunt, and fish. He got his first rifle at age twelve. And at age eighty-two he was still hunting.
Daniel Boone was actually the most famous frontiersman ever to live. He was in many fierce battles with the French and Indians. Daniel Boone is still remembered today as a famous frontiersman by thousands of people. It’s amazing that he rescued his daughter from Indians and was captured because of it. But how in the world could you do that and later escape from them? And that’s why Daniel Boone is still remembered today.
