Edwin Aldrin was a famous astronaut. During his childhood he was known as tender foot in Boy Scouts America and got the nickname, Buzz, from his sister.

He was born as Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr. but was best know as Buzz Aldrin. He was born on January 20, 1930, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He attended at Montclair High School which is located in Montclair, New Jersey, and graduated in 1951, and graduated from the Military Academy.

In his adulthood, he was in U.S. Air Force. He became part of NASA in October 1963, he was the second person to set foot on the moon after Neil Armstrong.

Buzz seen a UFO and turned back the mission out of fear. In 2003, he was awarded the humanitarian award. After leaving the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), he returned to the Air Force he was assigned to the Gemini Target Office of the Air Force Space Systems Division Los Angles and later Edward’s Air Force Base at the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. In March 1972, Aldrin retired from active duty after 21 years of service. After leaving active duty as an astronaut Aldrin returned to the Air Force.

Edwin Aldrin was a famous astronaut because he was the pilot of the aircraft and was the second person to set foot on the moon. He also was in the Air Force that’s why NASA hired him because he could fly a rocket.
