Evel Knievel

Evel was born October 17, 1938, in Butte, Montana. His parents Robert and Ann divorced in 1940. At the age of eight, Knievel attended to the Joie Chitwood Auto Daredevil Show. Knievel dropped out of High School. After one particular police chase in 1956, in which he crashed his motorcycle, he was taken to jail. In 1957, he joined the army. After the army he kidnapped and married his first wife. Evel is famous for being a dare devil. His carrier is based on ramping off of jumps on a motorcycle. His first show was Jan. 3, 1966, in Indio, California; it was a huge success. On May 30, 1967, he cleared 16 cars. After a crash recovery, he was more famous than ever. ABC-TV bought the rights to the film "The Jump". One time he proceeded to jump a twenty-foot-long box of rattlesnakes and two mountain lions on a motorcycle. Knievel is yet still alive today. He is still known as a motorcycle daredevil. Those are some of the reasons why Evel Knievel is famous.
