George Washington is known for being America’s first president. When George Washington served for president of the United States he didn’t live in the White House he lived in his own house because they hadn’t built the White House yet. But washinton was land rich but money poor. He had no "real" children.

When he was 20 he started his military career. George Washington served in the army. That’s when he was the first president of the United States.

George Washington was born in Westmoreland, Virginia, on February 22, 1732, and died December 14, 1799, in Mount Vernon, Virginia at age 67. His burial place is in the family burial chamber at Mount Vernon, Virginia. He liked everything in school but Latin. When he was 17 he wanted to be a surveyor. Also when he was 17 his brother died. Then not shortly after he was married to Martha Dandridge Curtis Washington on January 6, 1759.

In 1789, he was sworn in as the first U.S president. He also signed the first Bill of Rights. He thought that every president should only serve two terms but there was one president that didn’t serve two terms. After he was done being president he didn't like how the goverment had aranged so he went back into the movement intent to reorganizing it a little.

He got out of the army and got married to Martha Dandridge Curtis Washington. George Washington’s position before was army commander. He was in the U.S. army from (1752-1783) and Revolutionary War.

We know George Washington as the first president of the United States of America. He was also a big success in the army. He will always be remembered as “The Father of our Country.”
