Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. born Leslie Lynch King was the thirty-eighth president. He is famous because he was a president. He was the first and only person to be appointed to the presidency.President Ford was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on July 14, 1913. In his childhood, Gerald’s father was abusive all the time, and his mother use to beat him. As a teenager he joined the High School football team. He was the Most Valuable Player. He was a very good player in college and the University of Michigan. He was always active, but he did not carry the sport any further because he saw no future in it. Boys his age wore sports shirts and many other things. He wore dressy clothes that made him look like he was going to a funeral. In his early adulthood he went to the University of Michigan in 1931, and graduated in 1935.
President Ford was on the board of several major American corporations. He served the U.S. Navy and later he got married to Elizabeth Bloomer. He became a vice president in 1973 after Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned. Next President Nixon resigned his office. And that is how he became the president of the United States. He died in December 26, 2006. He will always be remembered for being the president who pardoned President Nixon.
