The Green Anole is only found in America. Green Anoles are found in bushes, trees, (Not above 15ft.) in and on rock walls, woods, and around houses. When it is breeding seasons (spring and summer) the males show off their dewlaps for the females to notice. Breeding season is 4 or 5 months. The female can lay up to 1 to 2 eggs. When they are laid the female gets this saliva and spits it on the egg. The egg is very fragile so it is hard for us to get it in to incubation. The little ones will not live very long even if we take them they may still die. It is highly stressed when caught. There diet is crickets, moths, and small mealworms. They need to avoid to eat sow bugs, aka potato bugs, the pill bug, and any kind of beetles, and spiders and cockroaches. They will usually drink purified water at least twice a day. The male can grow to 7" long, but scientist have seen 12" before. How to tell a female and a male apart is that a female has a white strip down its back and the male doesn’t. If you have a Green Anole here is some tips. Not appropriate, hot rocks, heat tapes, heated caves, sand or gravel substances, and temperature (80-90). When they are dehydrated they will not eat. It always needs to be checked before it is brought into a pet store. If they have black spots on the head and behind the eyelids you need to get it to a vet quick. If it is brown it is stressed and ill. The Green Anole is a little different. When ever it is being cornered it will get stressed and its tail will fall off, but it will grow back it just won't have any bones in it. Unlike most lizards it is not intelligent. Sometimes people say when you rub its belly it gets hypnotized.
