Jack London is a famous writer from Alaska. He found material for novels and stories that made him famous.

Jack London was born in San Francesco, California on January 12, 1876. In 1876 his house burned down. After his house burned down he went to live with his mother, Flora William and step father, John London.

In 1953 London was essentially self educated. At the age of 14 Jack London worked as a seaman He also rode in a fright train as a hobo. At the age of 19 London got into high school. He studied hard and past the entrance examination for the University of California the next year. He stayed at the University for one year and then worked as a seaman.

During the gold rush of 1897, London spent a year at the Klondike, region of the Yukon Territory in Canada. Some of his best work such as, Call to the Wild, White Fang, The Sea Wolf, The Iron Heal, and Martin Eden. In most of his novels were about strong brutal men scorn social customs. Jack London died on November 22, 1916.
