She was an American songwriter, singer, and music planner. She was lead songster of Big Brother and the Holding Company. She played the guitar, maracas, and she also did vocals. She also had a Solo career. Later came her solo CD called, “Me and Bobby McGee Fall Moon” in

1943 in Port Arthur,
Texas, at the US Mary Hospital. She went to Thomas Jefferson High School where she began to play the blues plus folk music with her friends. She graduated from high school in

Texas University. Janis Joplin did a solo career in 1960’s after Big Brother and the holding Company. She was a well known singer and she expressed her self in many ways. Her drug addiction began increasing through her life. She died in
