John Denver was a famous folk singer and songwriter. John Denver also did some acting. He co-starred in (Oh God). But he wasn’t as famous for acting as he was for singing.John was born in Roswell, New Mexico, on December 31, 1943. John Denver’s name wasn’t really John Denver; it was Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. When John was young his family moved a lot. They had moved to places like Arizona, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and Japan. John’s favorite place to be was at his grandmother’s house.
John Denver started playing in a High school band. The band ended up breaking up. John moved to L.A. and stared up again. He also played in a bar in L.A. He moved again this time to New York City. he started The Chad Mitchell Band. He had a lot of number one hits. He won some music awards. He also got an Emmy for the TV special (Rocky Mountain Christmas). On October 12, 1997 at Monterey Bay, California, John Denver died in a plane crash. While John was alive he wrote an autobiography called Take Me Home. He also learned how to play the banjo.
