Joseph Biden, Jr. or more commonly know as Joe Biden is currently Barack Obama's Vice President candidate and the senior senator of Delaware. Joe Biden is 65 years old.

Early Childhood

Joe Biden was born on November 20, 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was born to Joseph Robinette Biden, Sr. (1915–2002) and Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan. He was first out of four kids. He has two brothers and one sister. As a kid Biden moved twice he moved form Scranton, Pennsylvania to Claymont, Delaware, which is in the suburbs of New Castle County, Delaware.

Education

Biden went to school at the Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware. Biden went to the University of Delaware and the Syracuse University College of Law. At the University of Delaware he received his Bachelor of Arts. He ranked 506th of 688 in his class at the University of Delaware. He got his Juris Doctor at the Syracuse University College of Law. He was accused of plagiarizing 5 of his 15 page law review article. He stated that he didn’t understand the rules of citing his work. He was able to redo the paper. For some reason he got his recorded clear of plagiarizing. He was submitted into the Delaware Bar in 1969.

Family

He has had to wives, Neilia (Hunter) Biden, who is deceased and Jill Tracy (Jacobs) Biden. He was married to his first wife for six years before she died in a automobile accident in 1972. Biden has been married to Jill Biden for 31 years. Biden had his first three children, Joseph Biden III, Robert Hunter Biden, and Naomi Christina Biden, with his first wife. Naomi Biden died in the car wreck with her mother. Biden had one more child, it was with his second wife, Ashley Blazer Biden.

Political Career

He was elected as into the U.S. Senate by a landslide of a margin of 3,162 votes in November 7, 1972. Biden has been elected into Senate five additional terms, in most election year he won with about 60 percent of the votes. Biden was a junior senator for twenty-eight years because of the two-year seniority of his Republican coworker, in the senate from Delaware, William V. Roth. When William has defeated when he ran for re-election in 2000, by Thomas R. Carper, he became the senior senator. Biden is the longest-serving senator that Delaware has every had in history. Joe Biden has ran for president twice. Once in 1988 and 2008. He is currently running for vice president under Barack Obama and the democratic party.

Biden‘s Stand Points

Here is some of the things Joe Biden does and doesn’t believe in. Joe Biden back the war in Iraq in 2003 but when Bush decided to send a surge of troops into Iraq he voted against it. In 2008 he voted for a bill that withdraw all US combat troops in Iraq by March. Biden states that he will end the war in Iraq. So Biden has had different thoughts about the war. Biden believes that it is up to the a person’s beliefs to be gay or not. Biden also promises to lower taxes. Joe Biden wants to lower gas prices by drilling off shore. As for environment issues Biden thinks that the melting ice cap is man-made and that we have to find the solution to fix it. Joe Biden and his running mate say that they make health care more affordable. Joe Biden will make math and science education a national priority. At first Biden was against abortion but over the years he has changed and is now for abortion. That is a few of his stand points.
