Mark Twain was from Connecticut he was a very famous writer. He wrote many, many books. One of the books was The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. He even wrote a book on himself.

Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 when Halley’s Comet was visible. That was a very important time in history. When Mark was young he was a prankster and he was a lot of trouble for his Mom. When Mark was twelve his father died and Mark had to drop out of school and help his Mom. Then he became a writer. Later, when Mark was 13 he worked for his brother Orion. Then Mark worked for his other older brother when he was 17.

Mark Twain had a very good career when he got to be an adult. His career was what made him so famous. That career was being a writer. A lot of the books you may not know. But one of the very famous books he wrote was The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. That was very famous when Mark Twain was an adult. He even wrote a book on himself.

When Mark Twain died on April 21, 1910 it was a very sad time for a lot of people. Mark Twain’s books are still very famous today. The best known book of his is still The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. And we especially admire him here in Indiana.
