Michigan is our 26th state and was founded in January 26 of 1837. Michigan's capital is Lansing. The state flower is the apple blossom and the state tree is the white pine. The state bird is the robin. Michigan's nicknames are the "Wolverine State", the "Great Lake State", and the "Water Wonderland". Michigan has a population of 9,938,444. Did you know... that Michigan is the only state to touch all of the great lakes.
