Missouri is our 24th state and was founded in August 10 of 1821. Missouri's capital is Jefferson City. Missouri's state flower is the hawthorn and the state tree is the flowering dogwood. The state bird is the bluebird. Missouri's nickname is "The Show-Me State". Did you know... that ice cream cones and iced tea were first served at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904.
