Neptune
From Wiki 5A
Neptune, Neptune has two rings around it. Voyager two reached Neptune and found some new moons and a surprisingly busying atmosphere. Neptune was finally discovered in 1850. In 1835 there was a theory that a distant planet was effecting the orbit of Uranus, but it ended up being ignored. In 1845 this planet was predicted to have a new position, but many didn't look so it wasn't discovered. In 1890 voyager two reached Neptune and confirmed that there were full rings around Neptune not just partial rings "ring arcs." Neptune is four billion and five hundred km from the sun. A day on Neptune is 16 hours and seven minutes. Neptune had four probes they are the Sunbeam, Limelight, Land master, and Astro.
A year on Neptune is 60,190 Earth days, and 165 Earth years. Even though Neptune is a very large planet it cannot be seen with the naked eye. Neptune never gets closer than 4.3 billion km from the Earth. Neptune has eight moons. The Diameter of Neptune is 49,528 kilometers, and the Relative Gravity is 100 lbs on Earth equals 114 lbs on Neptune. Neptune has large storms. Neptune has no solid surface. Neptune's heat and pressure temperatures near the center are incredibly high. Neptune is a gas Giant. Neptune is very different from terrestrial planets, which means they get very little heat from the Sun.
Although Neptune has very little heat from the Sun it's interior still has a great deal of heat left. You can not see Neptune's rings unless Neptune is in the Sun's shadow. Neptune's heat escapes outward , so temperatures fall as it moves farther from the center; therefore, the temperatures are more evenly than the terrestrial planets. Even though the heat and pressure in the middle of Neptune is very high the clouds on the outer layer are very cold and very often stormy. The gas giants hot interiors supply most of their heat. Thin clouds surround Neptune. Layers of Neptune include methane clouds, ammonia ice, ammonium hydrosulfide, and water vapor. Neptune is also known as Great Dark Spot, and Scooter. Neptune's atmosphere is very alike to Jupiter's it had bands of clouds and a lot of storm systems. Neptune's largest storm was called the Great Dark Spot, it was about the size of Earth. It's speed was over 1,100 km per hr. There was also a small white spot and it was called "Scooter" and it even moved more quickly than the Great Dark Spot.
