New Hampshire is our 9th state and was founded in June 21 of 1788. New Hampshire's capital is Concord. New Hampshire's state flower is the purple lilac and the state tree is the white birch. The state bird is the purple finch. New Hampshire's nicknames are "The Granite State", the "Mother of Rivers", the "White Mountain State", and the "Switzerland of America". Did you know... that New Hampshire was the first state to declare independence from England.
