Mr. Miller - Class 5A
I feel I am fortunate to be teaching at Southwood Elementary. This is a great school, and I enjoy working with the staff and students on all projects we tackle.
Where I've been
I actually attended this school - K through 6th grade. I then went on to Junior High and High School at Southwood Junior/High School. From there, I attended Indiana University (Kokomo campus) and graduated in the spring of 2000. My first year of teaching was at Norwell Middle School. I taught sixth grade science there. The next two years I spent at LaFontaine Elementary teaching fourth and fifth grade. Beginning in the fall of 2003, I moved to Southwood Elementary where I continue to teach science and reading.
Where I'm going
My philosophy of education is forever changing as I learn more about what makes kids "tick." Each year in class I try to involve more hands-on activities that allow kids to discover more new ideas... rather than me just preaching those ideas to the kids from behind my science cart. This wiki is just one of many avenues I have opened up for the kids to share what they are learning in our classes.
