Virginia is are 10th state and was founded June 25 of 1788. Virginia's capital is Richmond. Virginia's state bird is Cardinal and the state flower is the Dogwood. The state tree is the Dogwood. Virginia's nicknames are the "Old Dominion State" and the "Mother State". Did you know... that during the American Civil War Virginia was the home to the capital of the Confederate Army.
